Whistler, our Canada goose, first arrived in July 2023, alone and disoriented in a shopping plaza after a vehicle collision. Her paperwork looks different from our other residents because as a native Canada goose, she is officially “released”. The law doesn't allow us to hold birds like her. However, Whistler doesn’t want to leave. She lives at the pond by choice, free to come and go, and she chooses to stay.
If you know Whoop Whoop the whooper swan, you already know Whistler. She's the Canada goose by his side and her chart says so in plain words: “Whoop Whoop friend.” She is a beloved member of the Whoop gang, keeping company with Whoop Whoop and the Toulouse goose who also follows him everywhere. In her own words: “Why would I honk anywhere else?”
Give a gift that warms the heart! Your sponsorship of Whistler helps provide her food, expert veterinary care, and a safe home for life at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.
CHOOSE YOUR FORMAT:
Digital Gift ($35): We email the recipient a printable Certificate of Sponsorship plus Whistler's bio card with her photo and story.
Mailed Gift ($65): We print and mail the certificate and bio card.
Sponsorships are symbolic. Whistler stays home with us and your gift supports the care of all our sanctuary residents. This is a purchase, not a tax-deductible donation.
