Calypso, our Eastern ratsnake, was hit with a shovel somewhere on the outskirts of the rescue. Badly hurt, she slithered up to the rescue itself and found a staff member by the laundry hampers, asking for help the only way a snake can.
She has been healing under the team’s care since August 12, 2026, and she grows more active and alert every week. Through all of it, her intake exam’s words have held true: “Very sweet.” She loves a long soak, and her team says she likes to snuggle. In her own words: “Carolina Waterfowl Rescue sssssssssaved my life.”
Your sponsorship of Calypso helps provide her food, expert veterinary care, and a safe home for life at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue.

Sponsorships are symbolic. Calypso stays home with us and your gift supports the care of all our sanctuary residents. This is a purchase, not a tax-deductible donation.
